The Smart Battery Shunt
The SmartShunt is an all-in-one battery monitor, only without a display. Your phone acts as the display. The SmartShunt connects via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect App on your phone (or tablet) and you can conveniently read out all monitored battery parameters, like state of charge, time to go, historical information and much more.
Alternatively, the SmartShunt can be connected and be read by a GX device. Connection to the SmartShunt is made via a VE.Direct cable.
The SmartShunt is a good alternative for a BMV battery monitor, especially for systems where battery monitoring is needed but less wiring and clutter is wanted. The SmartShunt is equipped with Bluetooth, a VE.Direct port and a connection that can be used for: monitoring a second battery, midpoint monitoring or a temperature sensor.
The SmartShunt is available in 1000A.

Great. I bought a couple of SmartShunt 1000A/50MV and they work perfectly well. It’s a nice addition connecting to Victron app via Bluetooth. The setup was easy and simple. No issues or lag.

The Victron SmartShunt is a great battery monitor in which your phone acts as a display. The only downside is that it’s limited range. Other than that, it works pretty well.

I am very happy the Victron Energy SmartShunt that I have just acquired from Canbat. Installation was pretty easy, connection to my phone with Bluetooth. It does have like 10 feet range. All in all, it’s a fantastic product.

The Victron Smartshunt is not too bad I guess, bluetooth range is only 10 feet. You can use your phone as a display to check the information of batteries; sometimes it gets glitchy but it gets by. But I am gonna give it a 5 stars for Canbat’s amazing customer service.

If you don’t have a problem with it’s bluetooth range, then it can work for you. The smartshunt is basically better than an old fashioned volt meter. Gives you all the essential info about your batteries. Pretty Good.

So far the Victron Smartshunt I got has no performance issues. It gets disconnected or glitchy from your phone if you stand like more than 8 or 10 feet away. The bluetooth range is pretty much limited to 10 feet; other than that, its a pretty decent accessory.

This is pretty good. The Victron Smartshunt lets you know the exact consumption and the state of the charge of your batteries with great accuracy. It transmits those information via bluetooth to your phone which acts as a display. So far, it’s working pretty well.

The Smartshunt does it’s job as described and it comes with great features. The only weak spot is the bluetooth range, it only goes up to somewhat 10 feet. But putting that aside, I think is a well designed Victron Energy accessory.
