An 85A MPPT Solar Charge Controller that gathers energy from your solar panels, and stores it in your batteries. Using the latest, fastest technology, SmartSolar maximizes this energy harvest, driving it intelligently to achieve full charge in the shortest possible time. SmartSolar maintains battery health, extending its life.
The SmartSolar charge controller will even recharge a severely depleted battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 Volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulfated or otherwise damaged. This 85A charge controller works well with all types of Canbat batteries including Lithium Iron Phosphate, Sealed Lead Acid and Lead Carbon.

Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection in case of partial shading conditions
If partial shading occurs, two or more maximum power points (MPP) may be present on the power voltage curve. Conventional MPPTs tend to lock to a local MPP, which may not be the optimum MPP. The innovative SmartSolar algorithm will always maximize energy harvest by locking to the optimum MPP.

Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
Especially in the case of a clouded sky, when light intensity is changing continuously, an ultra-fast MPPT controller will improve energy harvest by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers.
Load output
Over-discharge of the battery can be prevented by connecting all loads to the load output. The load output will disconnect the load when the battery has been discharged to a pre-set voltage (48V model: interface with a relay). Alternatively, an intelligent battery management algorithm can be chosen: see Battery Life. The load output is short circuit proof.
Battery Life: intelligent battery management
When a solar charge controller is not able to recharge the battery to its full capacity within one day, the result is often that the battery will continually be cycled between a ‘partially charged’ state and the ‘end of discharge’ state. This mode of operation (no regular full recharge) will destroy a lead-acid battery within weeks or months.
The Battery Life algorithm will monitor the state of charge of the battery and, if needed, day by day slightly increase the load disconnect level (i.e. disconnect the load earlier) until the harvested solar energy is sufficient to recharge the battery to nearly the full 100%. From that point onwards, the load disconnect level will be modulated so that a nearly 100% recharge is achieved about once every week.

Optional: SmartSolar pluggable LCD display
Simply remove the rubber seal that protects the plug on the front of the controller, and plug-in the display

If planning on getting yourself into solar power energy, the MPPT Victron solar charge controller is a must. Not only it’s reliable but it’s also safe. Costs a few extra dollars but it’s worth it.

YES!! Finally, a company that sells Victron products and lithium batteries, and has great customer service with responsive emails or messages, and free shipping. I had a few problems installing my MPPT Victron solar charge controller, so I contacted Canbat for technical support and they helped solve the problem without any hesitation, very knowledgeable and informative. They deserve a 5 stars.

Pretty good Victron product, I bought a couple of MPPT 85A solar charge controller, and they were perfectly well. The only downside is that if you gonna connect it your computer of tablet or any other device with cables, you need those cables cause the solar charge doesn’t come with. It has Bluetooth which you can connect your phone with it; but, would have been nice if it came with other necessary wires and everything. Overall, it’s a great product, not issues so far, and my solar panels and batteries are working as it was intended to do.

This is my second MPPT Victron solar charge controller, and I am very satisfied by it. The variety of features that it comes with are great, you connect to your phone on Victron app via Bluetooth and with that, you can use it to check the status of your batteries and solar panels. Furthermore, you can also change the settings to your liking which is amazing. Great Product from Victron and I wouldn’t buying it again on the coming days.
